Your Official Invite to the
Summer of a Lifetime!
Do you have a passion for working with young people? Do you want to share your faith and inspire others to explore their own? Do you have a sense of adventure and like to try new things? Well, Luther Springs Retreat Center and Camp in Florida is where you’ll want to be this summer!
We are looking for 20-25 highly motivated and creative young adults, who will serve as summer camp counselors, team leaders, and support staff. You will be mentoring and working with young people from Kindergarten through twelfth grade in both residential and day camp settings throughout the state. It is a unique opportunity for you to experience a variety of Florida’s environments, from Jacksonville to South Florida and every place in between.
Camp ministry provides young people with the safe, caring atmosphere they need to understand their relationship to God, God’s people, and God’s world. A summer at camp is your opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those children, build important career skills, and make life-long friends, while growing in your own faith.
Our summer season begins May 25 with paid staff training. Leadership Staff have an additional training session beginning one week prior to the full staff team and Returning Staff come a little early to help get ready, on May 22. The last week of camp ends August 1, 2020, which gives us time for wrap up, clean up, evaluation, and celebration. We provide a salary, plus room and board. Our base location is Luther Springs Camp and Retreat Center outside Gainesville.
Please fill out the job application and reference forms. Complete the application as soon as possible. Give the reference forms to three people who are not peers or family members to be completed and returned to us. Phone, Zoom, or face-to-face interviews will be arranged upon receipt of the application.
Applications and reference forms can be sent to Sue Mendenhall, ELCA Deacon, Luther Springs Program Director: email@example.com. Please feel free to contact me with questions at that email or by phone at 352-358-1440.
